We Are Never Alone

The truth is, we are never alone. God is always with us, and He will never leave us.

God is with us. It may sound like just a cheesy phrase to make us feel better, but it’s true. We may not feel like it or we may dismiss such a simple-sounding truth, but there’s nothing more powerful.

The God Who made the mountains and oceans is with you. The Creator of the sunset desires a real relationship with you. Think about that for awhile -- not only are you not alone, but you have the God of the universe by your side! In any difficult moment, you can be confident knowing God is with you, He is for you, and He wants what is best for you.

Spend time talking to God about your loneliness. Nothing is too big or small to bring to Him in prayer. Take time to be in His presence and feel His peace and comfort.

God is big enough to care about the big issues in our lives. Even more, He is also big enough to care about every small problem in our lives as well. Whether loneliness is a big or a little part of your life, God wants to carry that burden for you.

Not only that, but He knows how you feel. God has provided us with Bible verses that offer solace in our loneliness.

Jesus Knows How It Feels To Be Alone

Jesus came to earth and lived like we lived. He went through many of the same experiences & feelings we’ve had. He was publicly rejected and abandoned by his friends. At one point, Jesus asked His friends to pray for Him in a time of distress, and do you know what they did? They fell asleep! Imagine how alone He felt in that moment.

Jesus has been alone. He knows what you are going through, and He is with you in every moment, ready to comfort you.

Why God Allows Loneliness

When you feel alone, Bible stories such as young David alone in the fields, or Joseph being forgotten in prison, can remind us that God’s people may be alone for a time, but they are not truly forgotten. God is with them through every circumstance.

God is not necessarily the cause of loneliness, but He can still work for our good and loneliness in the midst of our difficult seasons.

Why Gen Z is the Loneliest Generation and How Can They Cope With It?

According to Psychology Today, “seventy-three percent of Gen Z report feeling alone either sometimes or always—the highest level of any generation.” It’s no surprise when we stop to take in the facts: Gen Z has been raised by their phones, endured a global pandemic, and has never known a world without social media. So, how can Gen Z and parents of Gen Z kids help stop the loneliness epidemic?

1. Prioritize Connection Through Community: Whether it’s a run club, a church Bible study, a membership at the YMCA, a volunteer day, or a book club, finding fun ways to engage others in your community is a great way to set Gen Z up for success.

2. Prioritize Prayer and Connection with God: Have you ever heard the phrase, “We all have a God-shaped hole that only God can fill?” Well, it’s true! Everyone needs God. He is the answer, He is the comfort, and He is kind to us in our weakness. Want to learn more about receiving Jesus into your heart? Learn more about how to give your life to God: This is For You!

3. Prioritize Peace by Limiting Screen Time: No one wants to see Gen Z stay the loneliest generation. We all want health for Gen Z! For this to happen, parents, young adults, teens, and kids all need to practice restraint when it comes to their phones. Statistics show that Gen Z spends an average of 6 hours and 27 minutes per day on their phone. No wonder why we feel lonely! We’re living in a vacuum of entertainment. Start today by deleting social media apps or getting an app blocker to help limit your screen time.

4. If You’re Struggling, Ask For Help: No matter what generation you are, if you’re struggling with mental health and continued bouts of loneliness, asking for help is one of the best things you can do. Finding a counselor, speaking with a pastor, or calling a trusted friend is a great place to start to begin your journey of healing.

Should you be experiencing a crisis or are contemplating suicide, please call or text the 988 Hotline to speak with someone today. Your life matters. You are valuable. And we are praying for the peace of God over everyone who reads these words.

God Desires a Relationship With You

God is with you always. In fact, He wanted to be so close to us that Jesus came to earth to dwell with us. He then sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in our hearts. This shows how much He desires a relationship with you!

A relationship with Jesus is the best way to experience hope, joy, and peace. We hope these verses are an encouragement to you in your life and your relationship with God. These Bible verses about being alone are also a great source of comfort and a reminder that God is by your side.
